NOTE: An automatic notification email was sent yesterday to each registered attendee for
the 2022 NACRJ Conference in Chicago. It was a valid message to let you know about the
list serve for conference attendees. NACRJ is using a bulk email service offered by the
University of Texas at San Antonio for use by authorized faculty members and staff. Dr.
Gilbert, former NACRJ Executive Director and emeritus faculty member, is the authorized
user and operates the list serve for NACRJ. In the coming months NACRJ will have its own
list serve. You will hear more about this in the coming weeks.

Acknowledging the death of Tyre Nichols: A Community Sharing Circle
Saturday, February 11, 2023
10:30am-12:30pm CT
On Saturday January 7th, Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black motorist, was pulled over for
reported reckless driving, was beaten by police, and died three days later. Three weeks
later on January 27th, the City of Memphis released camera footage that shows the
aggressive beating that led to Mr. Nichols' death.
NACRJ is hosting an online Community Sharing Circle to bring people together to share the
impacts, emotions, and response to this tragedy. Together, we will work to create a safe
and brave space to acknowledge the cumulative impact and collective grief of this
injustice.
