I have two quick updates from the Modern Languages and Literatures Department:

First Update:

Elementary Spanish I & II (SPN 1014/1024) for the fall semester will have a different process for students when they try to register for these courses. To help place students in the appropriate section based on their language proficiency, students will be required to click on “Click to request approval.”

Students will then be directed to the qualtrics survey. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Within 72 hours after the student has completed the survey, the department will register the student for SPN 1014/1024. All SPN 1014/1024 courses are asynchronous.

Second Update:

For Fall semester, Elementary Italian I (ITL 1014, 002) will be taught specifically for students who are proficient/native/heritage Spanish Speakers. They will be teaching from the Spanish language to Italian, instead of English to Italian. Below, you will find the course for your reference.
