We had planned to start running the prereq drop script in audit mode this afternoon, but the Registrar’s office encountered some problems with their end of term scripts, so they have been delayed a couple of hours or so. The last I heard, they expect the scripts to be finished running by about 6:00. Since we can’t run the drop script until the end of term scripts have finished, we have had to push back the start of the drop script. The drop script is actually four different scripts that break the group of all registered students into four groups, based on their last names. We will run two of these scripts this evening and the other two early in the morning, prior to the start of business Friday. We will assemble the output from the scripts into a single spreadsheet and send it out on the list tomorrow morning as soon as it is available. As a reminder, running the script in audit mode doesn’t actually drop any students from their classes. Instead, it generates a list of students who would have been dropped for failure to meet prereqs if we had run it in update mode. This give you a chance to contact the students and advise them to drop themselves from those classes and perhaps pick other classes instead.

We will run the drop script in update mode, actually dropping students from their classes, on Dec 27 and 28.
