As you all know, advisors have had problems accessing the DegreeWorks server from time to time over the past couple of weeks. The problem is that for some reason the server crashes and needs to be manually restarted. As an interim solution,
OIT decided to schedule automatic restarts several times over the course of the day. We recently identified a possible solution to the problem on Ellucian’s website, which documented something similar happening at another school. We reported this information
to OIT, and they took steps to implement the proposed solution. Their plan is to see how the changes affect server connectivity today and tomorrow, and then they will evaluate the status of the server and see if the changes are helping. Once we hear anything
from them, I will let everyone know what I find out.
