Good afternoon Advising Community,

Some of you may receive calls in the near future requesting time to talk with you about student advising.  I wanted to let you know that these conversations are for a Task Group that has been appointed by the President to consider how the advising processes at UTSA are helping students succeed and reach their graduation goals.  The group is very aware that there are many issues and activities that affect graduation rates, of which advising is only one piece.  Dr. JoAnn Browning, Dean of Engineering, chairs the group and is joined by Mauli Agrawal, Anthony Espinoza, Carol Gonzalez, Craig Jordan, Sylvia Mansour, Lisa Montoya and Sandy Welch. 

The task group plans to talk with students, advisors, faculty and staff individually, as well as in a focus group.  I will be in touch with Dean Browning throughout the process to stay informed and help in any way possible.  I appreciate your openness and patience through this process.
