Subject: one-time waiver of COM 1053 &1063 duplication

Colleagues, due to some documented confusion about COM 1053 and COM 1063 this summer 2017, I am authorizing a one-time waiver of the policy that students cannot receive credit for both COM 1053 and Com 1063.  The 2017-18 catalog specifying credit cannot be earned for both was not available at the time students were advised and took the course.  Therefore, the attached list of students who took COM 1063 this summer who also completed COM 1053 may receive credit for both.  Now that the 2017-18 catalog has been published specifying credit cannot be earned for both, no future students may count both.
