I would like to remind all advisors of two things regarding requests sent to the DegreeWorks mailbox.

First, all requests should include the following information in a format similar to this:

Student’s Banner ID: @01234567

Student’s Name: Snow, John

Major: ME

Catalog: 201920

Description of the issue to be resolved.

Second, advisors should not make ANY exceptions to the Core block for any student. If you think an exception needs to be made, please send the request to the DegreeWorks mailbox and we’ll evaluate it. Sometimes there are other ways to accomplish your goal without putting an exception in the Core. At other times, an exception is warranted, and we’ll add it. In some cases when we add an exception to the Core, we also have to adjust the student’s record in Banner (Texas Core in CAPP), and entering exceptions without adjusting Banner can result in errors on the student’s transcript.
