This message applies especially to those of you who will get or have already received new computers, but everyone should be aware of the issue.  If you’re launching Banner and it tells you that your version of Java is out of date and asks you if you want to upgrade to the latest version, the correct answer is NO.  You might be able to check a box that says not to ask you again about upgrading to this version of Java, and it’s OK to check that box.  If you update to the latest version of Java, Banner will not work.  This is a known flaw in Banner.
