Good Afternoon,

I am reaching out today to share some exciting news and additional support as we reach our goals to ensure housing for our Youth. In the next 2 months, the coordinated entry process hopes to house all homeless individuals in Bexar County. The Housing First Project stands ready and fully staffed with 2 housing coaches and 2 peer advocates to provide housing support to the youth in our community. As a reminder, the Housing First Project is part of the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP grant) to house Youth and Young Adults between the ages of 18-24 at risk for or currently facing homelessness. The project provides up to 24 months of rental assistance and supportive services to enrolled Youth and their minor children. We receive our referrals through the San Antonio Homelink referral system. If you know of a youth who may be facing or at risk for homelessness, encourage them to complete the Homelink assessment through one of the access points.

Additionally, please have your youth reach out to me directly to assist in answering any questions they may have and navigating the process to be referred to our program if they so choose. My contact information is below to share with your students and youth and the Homelink pamphlet which provides assessment access points available is attached as well.
