Subject: [Advising] University Life Awards-Outstanding Academic Advisor

Good morning,

Please join me in congratulating Yolanda Williams as  the recipient of the 2014 Student Government University Life Award for Outstanding Academic Advisor.  Below is an excerpt from her nomination.

Yolanda inspires an overall sense of belonging that leads to a welcoming campus environment. Yolanda’s promotion of this University core values and purpose, which includes character, collaboration, respect, and service to the campus community, is why so many students here at UTSA have such high regards about her.

Yolanda Davis adds continuity and positive growth of UTSA student life. She provides the consistency and communicates the goals, legacy and history to future generations of the UTSA. She contributes to the education and personal development of the students involved here at UTSA. Yolanda takes an active role, rendering advice and counsel as circumstances dictate. Yolanda Davis is a significant reason why I will be graduating this spring. She has served not only as an advisor to me but also a mentor. She goes above and

beyond her duties to ensure that UTSA students graduate on time.

Congratulations again Yolanda!
