Honors News:
We have a new Counselor in Honors. Welcome, Megan Balasundaram! Megan will be assigned to COE, COA, and HCAP students and will be the Honors College primary graduation auditor. As an Honors graduation auditor, Megan will review all
graduating seniors for completion of the Honors College curriculum requirements.
Quick reminder! Completion of Honors College requirements, including minimum GPA, does not impact graduation. The
Honors College is not a degree-granting program. If any advisor has questions regarding Honors requirements for a specific student, please contact Megan.
Honors Opportunities for All Students: The
Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad
The Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad provides up to $5,000 for students to study abroad or pursue virtual abroad opportunities. Students should be in the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad
or internship program, or a virtual international program of at least three weeks. The application deadline is October 5 for study abroad programs that will begin in Spring or Summer. Students applying for Summer can reapply in March if they aren’t
selected the first time. The US Department of State awards approximately 3,000 awards each year, and the program seeks to increase diversity in program participants. Applicants must be Pell Grant recipients.
The Office
of Nationally Competitive Awards will host 2 Gilman Scholarship workshops in September. Any student can RSVP on RowdyLink:
Friday, September 3 at 2:00 - https://rowdylink.utsa.edu/event/7190749
Monday, September 13 at 4:00 - https://rowdylink.utsa.edu/event/7190748
