I am deeply sad that George was unable to fulfill his dream to continue advising Personally, I am very fortunate for having introduced him to our advising programs and encouraged him to apply 7 years ago. He
and I had special connection on that regard.
Please convey to him my best wishes. I have faith that he will combat his illness with resilience and strong courage.

With sadness I have to report that George Bergquist has retired from UTSA due to his illness.
George has been an academic advisor in the COEHD Advising Center for seven years. He took great care of his students and his co-workers. He was the ‘motivator’ in our center and initiated our ‘musical performances’
and our COEHD Christmas caroling across campus.
We will miss him greatly and wish him all the best to get back his strength.
A small retirement reception will be planned later in the spring once his health status improves.
