Good afternoon, Ms. Barrera.
I am serving as the UTSA Pre-Law Advisor and would like to share with you about our
UTSA Summer Law School Preparation Academy program so that you can please share with your advisors and advisees. Law school accepts all majors, and we all want them to succeed in law school academics, application, and admission. The
Institute for Law and Public Affairs provides pre-law support/services to all majors.
In addition to the
Summer Law School Preparation Academy, the Institute for Law and Public Affairs coordinates the
Certificate in Legal Studies, offers prelaw advising and pre-law events, such as the
Law School Fair at UTSA, this year, September 19.
The
UTSA 2023 Summer Law School Preparation Academy’s (SLSPA) purpose is to assist students hone skills for law school and LSAT while learning whether they belong in law school and can succeed in a legal career. The SLSPA provides an
intentional
pre-law curriculum supplemented by experiential learning experiences to assist students gain admission to and excel in law school.
During the SLSPA, students hear from and connect with the legal community, diverse legal areas practicing attorneys and law school admission deans, and experience law school mock classes.
SLSPA students also have the opportunity to attend free LSAT workshops.
SLSPA students earn up to
12 credit hours that count for UTSA Certificate in Legal Studies. If students are financial aid eligible, they can apply for summer financial aid.
SLSPA Regular admissions application deadline is April 14, 2023. Students can apply at:
