Good morning.

Below are instructions and screen shots to access FERPA documents in Application Extender versus Web Access.  I was able to view the documents for Arielle A. Thomas as in the previous example below.  I know the advisors do not have access to Application Extender, but I wanted to share to let you know that the documents do exist for this student.

Here are my instructions:

Open Application extender through banner.  Right- click on -The UTSA-Banner-FERPA-UTSA Banner FERPA

Right-Click on UTSA-BANNER-FERPA and click on New Query.

Enter the banner id# in the ID Values, then click on the search box below

Arielle has her authorization release records

Double-click on DOCUMENT TYPE and will give you a range of options

Just wanted to let you know that the student do have FERPA documents in extender.

As promised, here are the steps for accessing the Release of Information form via Web Xtender.  Please follow the screen shots that Melissa provided and you will be able to view the form if the student has actually submitted it.

Hi Cynthia,

I found out there is a new place where release forms are being stored.  It took me a while and some help from Sara to find it, but here’s how you do it.

After you have extender up you see the screen shot below and here is where we were seeing the same things.  To be continued at the bottom of the screenshot…

So now, if you click on View from the menu at the top and then select Applications, you should be able to see this:

If you can’t see the folder called UTSA-BANNER-FERPA, then you will need to contact Brad Cooper to get permission.  To open the folder, right-click and select New Query:

You will have to enter the student ID again in order to return anything (I know that is not user-friendly).  After entering your student I got no documents, so either the document has not been imaged or has not been submitted.

It’s easier to get back to the main page if you just close the window and open it back up again from Banner.  Hope this helps!

Melissa
