Meet Amanda Flores Academic Advising Unit: Exploratory Studies Kudoboard for Amanda:
https://utsaadvising.kudoboard.com/boards/KhGP0RSm Hi! My name is Amanda Flores, and I am ecstatic to be joining the UTSA Advising Family! I was born and raised in this great city of San Antonio, Texas. I graduated in 2019 from The University of the Incarnate Word with a MA in Applied Administration,
and in 2016 with a BA in English. I have a great love for education because of my grandfather who always told me that education was one of the best things you could do for yourself, and I agree. In my free time, I enjoy watching 90 Day Fiancé, anime, and horror
movies. I also have a passion for dancing, spending time with my family, crafting, painting, and trying new things. |

Meet Alyssa Martinez Academic Advising Unit: Math and Physical Sciences Kudoboard for Alyssa:
https://utsaadvising.kudoboard.com/boards/JnTLLsxn Hello all, my name is Alyssa Martinez and I am excited to become a part of this team! I am originally from a little city in the Rio Grande Valley area called Mission, Tx (which is a lovely 4 hour drive south of here to the very tip of the
state). I was a part of the first class that graduated during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 from UTSA with a BA in Sociology and a BS in Public Health. I am transitioning into this new role after working with the One Stop Enrollment Center on our campus where
I assisted with Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid processes and inquiries. On my free time I enjoy painting/drawing, gardening, reading, going on walks, and attempting to keep up with my firecracker of a puppy. |

Meet Alejandro Quirino Aguilar Academic Advising Unit: Exploratory Studies Kudoboard for Alejandro:
https://utsaadvising.kudoboard.com/boards/Yy6FUW3H My name is Alejandro Quirino and it has been my professional dream to be an Academic Advisor for UTSA! I was born right here in San Antonio, Texas and obtained both my Bachelor’s in History and Masters’ in Higher
Education Administration from UTSA! Before my journey into higher education, I spent time in the classroom in order to become a social studies teacher. Though I completed my clinical teaching and certifications, I knew my passion to help students was beyond
the classroom and in higher education. I have previously worked at UTSA for the Academic Peer Coaching Program as their coordinator. Assisting students in creating study strategies helped me understand the academic needs of students to succeed in their journey.
Then, I took the jump towards becoming a Residence Life Coordinator at Our Lady of the Lake University which opened my eyes to the field of student affairs. The position helped me develop a true understanding of the support we as student affairs professionals
provide. A few things about myself is that I am a huge Marvel fan, a son of immigrants, and in a love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys. For self-care, spending quality time with my family and girlfriend, and consistent exercise allow me to decompress
and remind myself that everything always works out. |
