UTSA Preparedness Partners,

Last fall, the UTSA Office of Emergency Management and HR Training & Development Division teamed up to create a new employee development course:  EP 457 – UTSA Emergency Preparedness ONLINE.  We are committed to delivering quality preparedness education through in-class and online learning methods, and continue to seek new ways to engage the UTSA community in disaster readiness. 

With this said, we need your help!  In a few weeks, I will be submitting the innovative EP 457 training module to the International Association of Emergency Manager’s (IAEM) for consideration in their global awards competition (public awareness category), whereby we need to boost our training numbers before submission.  I would appreciate if each of you would take 20 minutes of your day to engage in emergency preparedness training via EP 457 (by May 22), which not only increases your awareness but will aid our goal of winning this award!  Win - win for UTSA!  Please distribute to all within your departments.  Take the course here under Faculty/Staff Development: https://mytraining.utsa.edu/td/online.php

Course Overview:  EP 457 is an innovative and interactive online course that features various training modules covering university preparedness and response procedures, such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, rally points, threats/hazards (weather, fire, chemical/labs, etc.), active shooter awareness, and much more!  The course engages trainees through multiple learning methods that include interactive scenarios, games, and video.  Registration is now open - Be Rowdy Ready!
