Good Morning,
Fall course registration is in full swing with Juniors registering this week. I am pretty sure everyone’s inbox is overflowing with ‘urgent’ student requests right now. The students’ anxiety can very easily pass on over to us. Don’t let
this happen to you! You will be able to answer each e-mail and help-out in adequate time.
If your body is tensing up and your back hurts, I offer you below exercise to release some lower back tension:
Sit straight in your chair, shoulders down away from your ears, feet on the floor in front of you.
Take a deep inhale followed by a deep exhale
Put your hands on your knees
(We will make circles with our tummies. Your circles can be big or small, whatever feels right to you)
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the left side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the right side
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the left side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the right side
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the left side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the right side
Center yourself and reverse
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the right side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the left side
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the right side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the left side
Inhale and move your tummy forward and to the right side
Exhale and move your tummy back and to the left side
Center yourself
Take a deep inhale and exhale deeply
Get up and walk around a little bit and then you can get back to those e-mails…..
If you like a 10 minute video session of ‘A Moment to Breathe’ tune in into the UTSA Staff Senate YouTube Channel and exercise together with me:

Every week I will post a new session for the time we are all telecommuting.
