Subject: Housing Resources for Homeless Students

Good Afternoon,

I just wanted to send a quick note and let you know that we are struggling to identify youth and young adults (YYA) experiencing homelessness across our system currently.  If you can refer YYA to a Homelink Access Point for assessment, that would be helpful!  RMYA launched their mobile unit and has a Facebook page sharing their daily time/location.  You can also refer YYA to the city’s Homeless Connections Hotline for assessment.

I know we may see (sadly) an increase in people experiencing homelessness when the moratorium ends next week.  Identification will also improve with the launch of SAMM’s drop-in center.  But in the meantime, we don’t want our YYA to miss out on housing opportunities currently available.

Thank you so much!

Airika has requested I forward this communication.  Please be aware if you are supporting a precariously housed or homeless student. This may be beneficial information for the advisors and first-gen staff.

Respectfully,
