Subject: Athletic Coaching Minor and Certificate Program
Starting in the fall term we will not be offering and KIN 1001 or 1101 courses in the coaching programs. Instead we will be teaching the content of those courses in the KIN 4413 courses along with theories and strategies. We are also
eliminating the minor in coaching. We have revised the certificate program as seen below:

Any students wishing to complete the minor and are assigned to a previous catalog should enroll in a second section of KIN 4413 to enhance their qualifications or KIN 4123 to obtain the 18 hour requirement. We will work with any students
who have already completed one or more of the KIN 1001 or 1101 courses using our KIN 3xx1 level courses, KIN 2211, etc. I will assist your office and students transition into the new requirements and fulfill their degree program.
Also, please be aware that we will be offering KIN 4413: Basketball in fall semesters, KIN 4413: Volleyball, and KIN 4413: Soccer in spring semesters, and KIN 4413: Football in summer semesters. This will allow students to perform their
practicums (KIN 4943) the semester after their KIN 4413 course and during the sports high school/middle school competitive season. At this time we do not anticipate offering any other sports in our coaching program.
