Morning Everyone,
Wanted to send information on this institute, just in case you may not have received.
Sabina Bhattathiry-Kapoor
The UTSA Institute for Law and Public Affairs is currently receiving applications for admission to the UTSA Summer Law School Preparation Academy (SLSPA) program, and we would like to let your
students know about it.
The SLSPA encompasses 12 credit hours of coursework designed to hone the reading and writing skills students need to successfully gain admission to and excel in law school. This curriculum is
designed to prepare students for law school and the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) by emphasizing analytical thinking, critical reading, and quality writing skills. Students who successfully complete the SLSPA receive the UTSA Certificate in Legal Reasoning.
The summer prelaw program incorporates two phases, with students taking 2 3-credit courses in each. Students apply for Phase I as sophomores and attend the Academy during the summer between their
sophomore and junior years. Students enroll in Phase II during the summer after their junior year and before their senior year. Phase I starts May 26, and Phase II July 2. Deadline to apply for early admissions is March 1, and for regular admissions is April
1.
If you know of students interested in going to law school, please, refer them to us. We provide prelaw advice and can help them to be better prepared for law school and the application process.
Students can find information about us at http://www.utsa.edu/ilpa/, and we can be reached at
ILPA@utsa.edu; phone: (210) 458 2990.
We do NOT replace the role of an academic advisor.
We want to thank you for your support in getting our message to your students. I am enclosing an electronic flyer about our program. Please, feel free to make copies and post them in your office,
and do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. Thanks, again!
Best regards,
Dr. Alvarez
