It is our pleasure to announce the addition of two new staff members this week. Jose Bayona, Academic Advisor I, and Celeste Gonzalez, Customer Support Supervisor, to the UTSA Academic Advising team. Jose and Celeste begin today, Monday, June 12^th. Jose will be assisting students in Business Studies, and Celeste will be involved in Advising Operations. Hello! My name is Joe Bayona and I am excited to be a part of the UTSA Advising family! I was born and raised in El Paso and earned my B.A. in 2019 and M.A. in English and American Literature in 2022 from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Until recently, I worked as an Admissions Counselor at UTEP but continue to serve as an Adjunct Instructor in the First-Year Composition Program. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family.

My name is Celeste Gonzalez, and I’m excited to come back to the UTSA advising family! I am originally from Brownsville, Texas, but I’ve been living in San Antonio since 2018. I graduated from UTSA in December of 2022 with a B.A. in Politics and Law. While at UTSA I worked as an advising assistant, and loved every minute of it. I am extremely excited to see what my knowledge of advising can bring to my new position.
