Good afternoon,

Since it’s audit time, here is a reminder about Honors College requirements and graduation:

Completion of Honors College requirements, including minimum GPA, does not impact graduation. The Honors College is not a degree-granting program.

Regarding Honors distinctions, there are two types of recognition of graduation from Honors – graduation with Honors (students who have completed all the requirements) and graduation as a Member (students who meet a certain GPA & have done work in Honors). Each of these designations have a curriculum code in Banner that we can adjust as needed, and each of these codes do have an impact on DegreeWorks. The Honors Graduate code will load the Honors block in DegreeWorks, and the Honors Member code will remove the Honors block in DegreeWorks, but keep the student in an active position in the College. The Honors Member status will be indicated on the student’s transcript.

If any advisor has questions regarding Honors requirements for a specific student, please contact the student’s Honors College Counselor.

You are also more than welcome to reach out to me if you have questions or need additional assistance. I am happy to help.

Thank you,
