Good Afternoon,

I am sad to announce that Michelle Baland, Program Manager with the UHPO office is leaving UTSA for a new opportunity in Mississippi.   We will miss working with her and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.  Michelle’s last day in the office will be September 28th.  This change is UHPO staffing has required that we modify our advising for the time being, so we have created an new method for advising students interested in pursuing a health profession.  Attached to this email is a flyer that lists how we are providing advising services moving forward.

To summarize, we will be conducting group advising for specific populations and topics of discussion.  Students will be required to sign-up for the group advising so we can track headcount.   The group advising sessions will be held for Freshman Medical & Dental students and Freshman Nursing students.   Additionally, we will have three Facilitated group information sessions/advising

1.        Pre-Professional Activities and Planning their Application Timeline.

2.       Preparing to Apply

3.       2+2 Programs

Finally, as we move closer to spring registration, Walk-in advising will be available for students who have quick questions about their upcoming spring schedule.   Thank you for your continued referral of students to our office and we will keep you informed of changes as we move forward.

Regards,

Tracy
