Subject: [Advising] Great News for Venesa Matthews

I am excited, yet a little saddened to announce that our colleague and friend, Venesa Matthews, will be moving on to a position with the Alamo Colleges as a team lead for SAC.  Venesa has been with UTSA for six years and has worked predominantly with UTSA’s provisional population as an advisor for the Academic Development Program.  After the restructure, she joined me in the Life and Health Sciences Advising Center as one of our team leaders.  Venesa has been instrumental in assisting our new center get grounded, and although there has been lots to learn, she has always made a conscious effort to help her new colleagues through any questions or situations that arose.  We truly appreciate her efforts! 

She has shared that she will greatly miss her UTSA “work family,” but as I told her, those are ties that can never be broken.  We will miss her as well, but we know that she is off to bigger and better things, and she truly deserves this new opportunity.

Venesa’s last physical work day will be Friday, December 19^th.  Please join me in congratulating Venesa as she ventures into the newest chapter of her career!
