Dear COEHD Colleagues,

The State Employee Charitable campaign launched earlier this month and UTSA has set a bold goal to reach an institutional goal of $150,000 for 2020. As an urban serving university, UTSA is committed to supporting San Antonio, and this campaign is an opportunity to help the under-resourced individuals and families in our community and to support efforts that enhance quality of life for all of us. We encourage each of you to participate as you are able!

The theme of this year’s SECC campaign is We are Texas strong.  So many families have been impacted by COVID-19, so to enhance our impact, UTSA is partnering with UT Health San Antonio to raise a combined total of $500,000.

If you haven’t yet given, please consider doing so on Thursday, October 15, this year’s partnership date with UT Health San Antonio.

Additionally, you now have an opportunity to give back to our own campus community as three UTSA entities are now SECC approved charities, allowing you to support Roadrunners directly:

·         Roadrunner Pantry

·         Fostering Educational Success Center

·         First Generation and Transfer Center

We encourage you to visit the  UTSA’s SECC website to learn more about the organizations that participate in the SECC.  Even though we are living in unprecedented times, community engagement has always been valued at UTSA and we are always impressed by the generosity of spirit by our faculty and staff.  We will continue to have a silent auction, so please visit the website as proceeds from the sales benefit the charities.  If you have items you wish to donate to the silent auction, please email secc@utsa.edu  or Penny Wuebben at penny.wuebben@utsa.edu for more information.

Thank you for your time, and for everything you do for our university and our community.  We are Texas strong!

With appreciation,
