Description: Broader Impacts activities are becoming an increasingly important requirement within proposals. There are, however, still grey areas in understanding exactly what funders expect to see included in these sections and how one can be innovative in designing/planning for them. The Office of Research Support (ORS), in collaboration with several institutions in the San Antonio area, is hosting a workshop from the National Alliance for Broader Impacts (NABI), aimed at helping faculty better understand strategies for developing and describing the outcomes and broader impacts of their research, scholarship and programs.
The workshop will consist of one 4-hour session facilitated by faculty from public universities in Wisconsin and associated with the National Alliance for Broader Impacts. Participants will have the opportunity to draft specific examples based on their own work and to network with similarly situated faculty and staff from other universities. This workshop is open to faculty and staff regardless of level of grant writing experience.
