The Open Cloud Institute is hosting an educational session on how to use the NSFCloud. Please see the attached flyer. This workshop will be highly valuable to all researchers who have computational or big data analytics needs. Please share with all researchers within your colleges/departments that may be interested in this resource.

 

NSFCloud Educational Session

Date: Friday, July 10, 2015

Time: 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.

Location: John Peace Library, Assembly Room (JPL 4.04.22). Guests of UTSA should parking in the Bauerle Road Garage. Parking instructions will be emails to all registrants and parking validation stickers will be provided at the registration table.

Workshop Coordinator: Paul Rad, Assistant Director of the Cloud Institute

Description: The University of Texas at San Antonio is one of five institutions nationwide partnering on a $10 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to create a cloud-computing testbed that will let researchers develop and experiment with new cloud architectures and applications. The NSFCloud project will support the design, deployment and initial operation of Chameleon, a large-scale testbed consisting of 650 cloud nodes and five petabytes of storage. All researchers that have computational or big data analytics needs in their research are encouraged to attend. Paul Rad, co-principal investigator for Chameleon and Assistant Director of the Open Cloud Institute at UTSA, will lead training and outreach efforts for the project.
