Dear Colleagues,

Please join me in  congratulating Dr. Nora on his very deeply thought out decision to  step down from his role as Associate Dean for Research at the end of this year. Dr. Nora has successfully served in this role since 2010 and has  guided the college as it has grown its research portfolio. This was a difficult decision for Dr. Nora. He has been an incredible resource to the COEHD and to me during my first years here at UTSA, however, he has decided to focus attention on  the Center for Research and Policy in Education which is positioned to play a significant role  as we move forward under Dr. Eighmy's leadership. Dr. Nora has been instrumental in  developing the research infrastructure in COEHD and  we look forward to building on the strong foundation that is in place as we  set and reach new goals related to research and faculty development. I have appreciated his collegiality, his  expertise, and his feedback and look forward to continued collaborations with him. 

I know that he will be missed in the Dean's office, but I also know  that his expertise and  strengths will bring great success and  growth to the Center and  his role  in that endeavor will have a great impact on the college, university, and community.

I will be soliciting  applications for the revised  Associate Dean position and hope to identify a candidate who can work with Dr. Nora over the summer on transition.
