Attached is information regarding this year’s Undergraduate Research Week - April 15-19, 2024. Please share this information with your students interested in presenting their research projects.

 

Also, on Monday, April 15, 2024, we will be hosting an undergraduate research fair 12-2 (TBA). We hope you and your areas/labs/ programs to consider tabling during the fair. More details on the fair will be provided after spring break. If your area, office, program or lab is interested in participating please respond to this email and I will follow up. :-) 

 

Additionally, a separate request for judges/poster reviewers and moderators will be sent after spring break.

The UTSA Office of Undergraduate is proud to celebrate National Undergraduate Research with an annual event sponsored by the (OUR) featuring students will showcase undergraduate student research and creative endeavors from all disciplines across campus. The event is meant to increase visibility of and participation in undergraduate scholarly endeavors across all areas of academic inquiry. Such scholarly experiences enhance learning by complementing classroom-based instruction, provide real-life, hands-on experience in student’s field of interest, and offer development of critical and independent thinking, creativity, and problem solving.

This event will be in person, with multiple events happening throughout the week at the main campus. 

New this year, the addition of the MMI Research Symposium on Friday, April 19, 2024. Details on how to register for the MMI symposium are attached to this email. 

Spring 2024 Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry Showcase
April 15 - 19, 2024

Free and open for anyone to attend!

Students may showcase their work from Fall '23, Spring '23, Summer '23 and Spring '24.

Students may choose to present their work in the following ways:

  1. Conference style poster 48x36,
  2. 8-minute Oral PowerPoint presentation,
  3. 3-minute 3MT research thesis competition,  
  4. 2- minute Research Video Showdown,
  5. Creative Open Mic 

Student are able to apply to multiple event. 

April 15, 2024 – Undergraduate Research Fair 

April 16, 2024 - Undergraduate Research Poster Competition

April 17, 2024 - Oral PowerPoint Presentations

April 17, 2024 - Open Mic Creative Showcase

April 18, 2024 – 3-Minute Thesis & Video Showdown Competition

April 19, 2024 – M.M.I Research Symposium  (Separate Registration – See Flyer)

April 19, 2024 – Awards
