Dear Colleagues,

As you may have heard, Karen Hoskins will be retiring  this spring. Her work with the COEHD, and her work with me over these last months, have been critical to effective and successful operations, and her patience with my endless questions  when  I arrived  were instrumental in my acclimation to the College and University. I hate to see her go but I wish her the best as she enters into the  well earned next phase of her life.

We conducted an internal search (open to the campus community ) to fill her Assistant Dean position (not an easy task!), and while we had a number of qualified candidates, there was unanimous agreement among the members of the search committee in the ultimate selection. Please join me in congratulating Liliana Gutierrez, who you all know, in her new position as Assistant Dean.  Liliana has been a constant and knowledgable resource and has excelled in her current role as Administrative Services Officer III, and we look forward to her work with me and the Dean's office and the COEHD and University in this  new role. 

We will be advertising to fill the Administrative Services Officer position that Liliana has held, and Karen will be working with me and the Dean's Office staff on a smooth transition during her remaining time with us. 

I look forward to our continued growth and collaboration across units within the COEHD, and our outward reaching work as well.
