UTSA study identifies benefits of community scholarship programs
A little financial assistance goes a long way toward helping youth realize their college dreams. That’s according to a new study by the UTSA Urban Education Institute (UEI) examining San Antonio’s most wide-ranging collection of community scholarships offered
to college-bound students.
While summer is traditionally a time for students to relax, for many teachers it’s a time to head back to school themselves. One such opportunity is the Mexican American Studies Teacher’s Academy, which will run virtually from June 21 to 25, 2021.
Mario Torres named next dean of College of Education and Human Development
UTSA Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Kimberly Andrews Espy today announced the selection of Mario Torres, professor of educational administration and human resource development at Texas A&M University,
as the dean of the College of Education and Human Development and President’s Distinguished Professor. He begins his duties August 1.
The Inaugural Ethnic Studies Educators' Academy will be held July 19, 21, and 23, 2021. Applications for the academy are open to community college & university faculty using anti-racist methods and approaches. 25 selected faculty will receive $1000 for attending. Applications
are due on June 04, 2021.
