Announcing OPE's 2016 Grant Competitions
& Seeking Peer Reviewers!

The Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) is pleased to announce its 2016 grant competitions!  The notices inviting applications (NIA’s) will be posted on the program webpages when the competitions begin accepting applications -- information on these dates will be posted as it becomes available. The months below are included as estimated time-frames to help with planning.

OPE’s Office of Higher Education Programs (HEP)
HEP facilitates grant programs that promote and expand access to postsecondary education, increase college completion rates for U.S. students and strengthen the capacity of colleges and universities.

Student Services Grants
Education Opportunity Center Programs (est.in Jan)
TRIO’s Talent Search Program (Apply now through Feb. 5th!)
Training for Federal TRIO Programs (est. in Feb)

Institutional Services Grants
Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions Program (est. in Feb/March)
Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions (est. in Feb/March)
Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions Program (est. in Feb/March)
Hispanic-Serving Institutions – STEM (est. in March)

OPE’s Office of International and Foreign Language Education (IFLE) 
IFLE facilitates grant programs that help broaden global competencies that can help drive the economic success and competitiveness of our Nation.

Fulbright-Hays Group Programs Abroad – Short Term/Long Term (est. in Jan)
Fulbright-Hays ---Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (est. in Jan)
Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (est. in April)
American Overseas Research Centers (est. in May)

Seeking Peer Reviewers! 
Looking for professional development experience in 2016 or interested in learning more about the Department of Education’s OPE and its programs?  OPE seeks to create a pool of specialists to serve as “peer reviewers” to read and evaluate its grant competitions!  Participation requires up to two weeks with modest compensation.  To learn more and/or apply please visit Peer Reviewers Information page on OPE’s website.
