I'd like to thank you all for coming together on Friday morning to kick off the academic year and to share food and conversation with each other.  It was a wonderful turnout, and an excellent testimony to the quality of the new people we've hired as well as the support and enthusiasm of the veteran colleagues with whom they will be working. 

A huge thanks to the Dean's staff for organizing the breakfast and agenda, and to Marco Cervantes, for sharing his musical talent with us.

I should note that several people came forward after the breakfast, offering to work with Marco to present a special COEHD specific musical performance at our winter celebration.  I've asked Debbie Silliman-Wolfe to coordinate this effort, so if you're interested in contributing your musical talent to the COEHD group, just email her!
