Dear Colleagues,

 I would like  o take this opportunity to greet you. I have just completed my first week at UTSA and  thank all of you whom I have met for the warm welcome.  I am settling into both the UTSA and San Antonio community .

 My plan is to spend the month of August  meeting  one on one with Associate Deans,Department Chairs, Center Directors, and Unit  heads within the COEHD in order to  learn about your individual units and lay the foundation for our work together. We are planning a College wide meeting  (invitations to follow soon) for September and this will give us a chance to meet new and returning  colleagues and share news. 

In the coming weeks I will also be blocking some time each week  (a block at the 1604 campus and a block at the Downtown campus) to meet with people. These will be informal meetings that last about 30 minutes and will allow me to get to know you and the work you do in the College, and how the Dean's office can support that work, and give you a chance to get to know me . The announcement for these meetings will come shortly after the semester begins. 

I look forward to our work together and to meeting each of you as the semester begins and wish you a restful remainder of the summer break.
