The Summer Bridging Institute is a week-long institute that provides professional development workshops for both current and future educators of all grade levels
and all subjects. Workshops are presented by local educators and focus on developing strategies that can be implemented to stimulate, guide, and build capacity of diverse student populations. SBI will be held virtually using Zoom on July 14th to
16th. Sessions will be held from 9:00 am to 4:30pm
daily. Participants can earn up to 6 CPE hours per day.
COEHD to host African American studies

A group of COEHD professors is hosting a workshop about the importance of bringing African American studies to the
secondary education level amid the worldwide protests, marches and global conversations of systemic racism and oppression of African Americans in the United States.
Students take math tutoring to underserved communities
Students within the College of Education and Human Development’s teacher education program are serving as tutors for
local parents as well as elementary-age students primarily from San Antonio’s West Side as part of a math literacy initiative called the Community Math Project.
