The Smithsonian Institution, the MAS Teacher's Academy, the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA), and UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) invite you to participate in a two-part workshop designed to support the innovative teaching of Mexican American Studies in K-12 classes. The program will feature authentic digital cultural resources from the ITC (a Smithsonian affiliate) and the Smithsonian’s digital collections to aid you in developing and enhancing your MAS curriculum.

The two workshops will take place virtually on:

Monday, July 26th, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Friday, July 30th, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

* Participants who register must attend both workshops. Part I will include an orientation to using resources from the ITC and the Smithsonian Learning Lab. Part II will be a curriculum workshop where participants will share a digital collection that draws from museum resources. This two-part program is limited to 20 teachers who will receive a $250 stipend upon completion of both workshops and creation of a digital collection for the Smithsonian's Learning Lab. Teachers will also earn 3 Continuing Education Units for each workshop.

This program received Federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center.
