Subject: FW: 2014 Annual Faculty Performance Evaluations
This message is being sent on behalf of Jesse T. Zapata, Vice Provost for UTSA Downtown and Academic and Faculty Support:
REMINDER: The deadline for entering Annual Report information into Digital Measures is January 31, 2015.
The 2014 Annual Faculty
Performance Evaluation process will begin shortly (see attached timeline).
Please share the following information with your faculty.
In order to ensure that vitas in Digital Measures are updated and that Digital Measures annual reports are completed in time, please note the following:
·
All continuing faculty (NTT, tenure-track, and tenured) must update their vitas
and complete an annual report. Continuing instructors includes full-time faculty as well as part-time faculty appointed regularly (at least twice in the last four semesters).
·
All instructors must update their vitas in Digital Measures in order for UTSA to comply with HB 2504. Information required by HB 2504 for faculty vitas will
automatically be moved to the Bluebook vita for public viewing. If the faculty member is part-time and is not a continuing instructor, there is no requirement to complete the annual report.
·
NTT faculty should include any elements of the Annual Report for which they have been assigned responsibilities – Teaching, Research, Service, and Other.
“Other” would include any administrative or oversight duties assigned. They should ensure that any publications and service performed during 2014 is added to their vita. NTT faculty should enter “Not Applicable” for any activity on the Annual Report they did
not perform. NTT faculty should also complete commentary regarding the self-evaluations of accomplishments for each type of responsibility they have been assigned.
·
Faculty should be sure to select an end date for activities they want to appear in 2014: either “Present” for ongoing activities or “2014” as the end date for
completed activities. If “Present” or “2014” is missing in the End Date field, the activity will not appear on the Annual Report. (To indicate ‘Present’ as the end date, the End Date field should be left blank.)
·
Please remind your faculty that activities and accomplishments that occurred during 2014 can
only be brought into the Annual Report by updating the Digital Measures vita. The
only information that a faculty member has to input directly into the Digital Measures Annual Report is commentaries about teaching, research and service, and the electronic signature.
This is done by completing the ‘Annual Report Summary’ screen in Digital Measures.
·
Please remind your full-time faculty members (including full-time NTT) that to be eligible for a merit raise, they must submit an Annual Report and that their
Annual Report must be submitted using the Digital Measures Annual Report module.
·
Finally, please note that all 2014 Faculty Annual Reports will be archived on February 1, 2015; the archived copy will be the faculty member’s official 2014
Faculty Annual Report. If faculty wish to access their 2014 Faculty Annual Report after it has been archived, they should request a copy through their department administration.
All faculty are encouraged to enter the information as soon as possible to ensure their information is loaded in time. Systems tend to get overloaded and run very slow
when deadlines are approaching.
The Digital Measures landing page can be accessed at
http://provost.utsa.edu/vpaie/dm/. User Manuals for both the Vita and Annual
Report, as well as an Annual Report Mapping document that shows where Digital Measures vita items map to the Annual Report, can be found on this page. Faculty may call Tia Palsole (8038) for technical assistance with Digital Measures.
Thank you.
