Research Center receives ACRES award |
The UTSA Autism Research Center, directed by Dr. Lee Mason and Alonzo Andrews, recently named the recipients of the American Council for Rural Special Education (ACRES) Exemplary Program Award in the Inter-Agency Collaboration Category. Mason and Andrews will
receive the award at the ACRES conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, in March.

New numbers are in and more college students are choosing to earn a degree from The University of Texas at San
Antonio (UTSA). The UTSA Office of Institutional Research has released its spring 2018 census report: 28,675 students are enrolled in spring classes this semester, more than 1,600 from one year ago. This is the second straight year UTSA has seen an increase
in spring student enrollment.

to light, most recently at Michigan State University. Independently, these cases illustrate issues at specific institutions. Collectively, they suggest that important wake up calls may not be happening on many campuses.

Alamo Colleges create new pathway for transfer students |

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and the Alamo Colleges District today announced the creation of
the Transitioning Roadrunners at Alamo Colleges Program (On-TRAC). The transfer program will give freshman students, who apply but may not qualify for direct admission to UTSA an alternative pathway to achieve their goals.

Institute of Texan Cultures marks Lunar New Year |

The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures is observing the Lunar New Year with a festival. Saturday, thousands packed
the institute to take part in the annual Asian Festival. The daylong event celebrates the many rich cultures of Asia. Entertainment and food from China, to the Indian Sub-continent and the island nations of the Pacific were featured.
