The ELPS Department will be hosting two candidates for Assistant Professor, Higher Education, this week. We would like to encourage all faculty, students, staff, and administrators to attend these open sessions:


Dr. Nancy Acevedo-Gil, currently Assistant Professor, Doctoral Studies Program, Department of Educational Leadership, California State University at San Bernardino

·         Tuesday, February 7, 2:15 – 3:30 pm, Downtown Campus, Buena Vista Building, 4.301B: Introduction and presentation “Community College Pathways of Latina/o/x Students” 

·         Tuesday, February 7, 3:45 – 4:30 pm, Downtown Campus, Buena Vista Building, 4.301B: This will be an informal meeting where Dr. Acevedo-Gil will be able to answer questions and interact with graduate students as well as any faculty, staff, or administrators who wish to attend.


Dr. David Nguyen, currently Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership, The University of North Dakota

·         Thursday, February 9, 2:15 – 3:30 pm, Downtown Campus, Buena Vista Building, 4.301B: Introduction and presentation “#IAmNotYourWedge: A critical legal analysis of higher education race-conscious admissions in a “post-racial” society"

·       Thursday, February 9, 3:45 – 4:30 pm, Downtown Campus, Buena Vista Building, 4.301B: This will be an informal meeting where Dr. Nguyen will be able to answer questions and interact with graduate students as well as any faculty, staff, or administrators who wish to attend.
