Assumptions tend to get made about people who pursue advanced academic careers. Other, quite different assumptions
tend to get made about people who pursue rap careers. Marco Antonio Cervantes has a firm footing in both worlds. Cervantes is the interim chair of the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Department of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the
University of Texas at San Antonio. He’s also an emcee and songwriter who has been rapping and making hip-hop music since his middle school and high school days back in Houston.

sweets expert and chef Fany Gerson—agreed that its roots are Asian.

graduate and professional students earned degrees from 14 UT institutions at spring commencements, according to preliminary data.

The University of Texas at San Antonio wants to build a pedestrian bridge connecting its expanding downtown
campus to the West Side, according to its master plan. The bridge would be adjacent to Buena Vista Street’s existing vehicular overpass that clears a railroad switching yard, according to the plan. The plan is expected to aid in improving the pipeline from
early childhood education to higher education.

UTSA has cleared the next hurdle to build a new residence hall on its Main Campus. Today, the University of
Texas System (UT System) Board of Regents approved the design development for Guadalupe Hall, UTSA’s newest living and learning community for freshman.

Carmen Fies and Chris Packham at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) have been honored for their efforts to enhance STEM education in San Antonio schools by creating and nurturing educational partnerships in the community.

Center for First-Generation Student Success, an initiative of the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA), has named UTSA a top university in its programming efforts to create a supportive and empowering campus for first-generation students.
