The UTSA African American Studies Program this week presents the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture Series with keynote speaker Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University. Known as the “hip hop President” for promoting free speech on college campuses, Kimbrough has a reputation for motivating, encouraging and guiding university audiences to strive for success in academia and in the community.

The UTSA Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture Series began in 2016 to provide scholarly global appreciation of diverse and social justice issues relevant to our society. This year’s event is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in the Student Union Retama Auditorium (SU 2.02.02) on the UTSA Main Campus. It is free and open to the public.
