Hello,

This year I am serving on the UTSA President’s Advisory Committee for the 2013 State Employee Charitable Campaign. As a committee, we realize that volunteers have an enormous impact on the health and well-being of communities worldwide. This year members of the President’s Advisory Committee for SECC are taking two separate opportunities to give back to the community!

The first one will be handing out water at the San Antonio Aids Foundation “Run & Walk for Aids” 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk on September 14^th.

The second volunteer event will be at the San Antonio Humane Society on Saturday, October 5^th.

For the event at the San Antonio Humane Society we will volunteer to work in a variety of areas, including but not limited to the Kitty Cottage, Laundry Room, Clinic, Dog Kennels and Puppy Palace.

The San Antonio Humane Society also accepts donations of all kinds for the animals they care for. We are requesting donations for items that we may take with us on October 5th.

Some examples of items that we may all have sitting around the house include old newspapers, dog toys, plastic tupperware containers, and ice cube trays. A detailed wishlist of items they accept is attached to this email.

If you would like to donate any items for the San Antonio Humane Society, please let me know, or drop them off in MB 3.304 (COEHD Office of the Dean) by Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
