Dear COEHD Faculty:
The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) announced yesterday the possibility of new awards for Supporting Effective Educator Development Program (SEED). The notice of intent to apply is due April 5, 2018 and the deadline for applications is May 17, 2018. This funding includes two absolute priorities, one competitive preference priority, and one invitational priority. These include:
**Please note that the Administration’s budget request for FY 2018 does not currently include funds for new awards under this program. However, the DOE is inviting applications to allow sufficient time to complete the grant process before the end of the current fiscal year, if Congress appropriates funds for this program. Contingent upon the availability of funds and the quality of applications, DOE may make additional awards in subsequent years from the list of unfunded applications from this competition.
Estimated number of awards if available: 5-8
Estimated range of awards: $1,000,000 - $6,000,000 per project year for up to 36 months
Average size of awards per year: $3,500,000
