Hello COEHD Faculty and Staff,

Per ADA Disability Resources at UT San Antonio outlined on the Compliance 2026 Webpage:

“Beginning April 2026, all UT San Antonio digital platforms and documents must comply with accessibility standards set by the U.S. Department of Justice.

These ADA Title II Web/Mobile Accessibility requirements, which apply to all public universities, are designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to navigate UT San Antonio’s websites, access resources and use online portals and courses. Ultimately, these changes will help ensure that everyone can fully engage with the university’s digital presence.

This impacts everyone, including all faculty, instructors, TAs, staff, and students. All digital materials, including course content and PDFs, must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA guidelines by April 24, 2026.”

Resources to Help you Comply:

The university created a variety of resources that can be found here to support this transition, including materials for faculty, staff, social media managers and more.

One major area of focus is PDF documents, including CVs hosted on faculty profiles. To assist in making these documents compliant:

As a college, we have set an internal deadline of Friday, January 9, 2026, for faculty CVs to be updated and made accessible on our website. We encourage you to begin updating your documents as soon as possible using the resources provided.

For more information, visit the UT San Antonio ADA Disability website or contact their team at DigitalAccessibility@utsa.edu.

Thank you,
Katelyn Juarez
