Thanks for your splendid 90-Second Newbery movie version of "The Cat Who Went To Heaven"! We want to screen it at the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival screening at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, January 9 from 3-5 pm! It'll be co-hosted by me and Texas young-adult author Nikki Loftin.

 

Do you think you and the folks in your group will be able to come? Please let me know if anyone from your group is coming, and if anyone in your group would be up for being interviewed onstage (might happen, might not). That said, if you or nobody in your group can come, then please let me know that too -- there are a lot of folks who want to see their movie screened, but I couldn't accommodate them all, so if nobody in your group can come, I can give your slot to someone else.

 

As for the movie, I especially liked the framing device of having the 90-Second Newbery be a "dream" of the reader, and how the "real world" was a black-and-white movie and the "dream" was a succession of colored images. Good costumes and voiceover narration and subtitles got the ideas of the book across very well!
