Good afternoon,

While I'm not a faculty member at UTSA, I do work part-time in this department. If you are considering utilizing any technology in your research, I have experience with VR in Math (Algebra/Geometry/Calculus), VR in Natural Sciences, and just learning programming for VR.

In 2018-19, through TRiO, I wrote a proposal in response to a Department of Education RFP for innovative strategies to increase student performance in coding and algebra. We submitted and were awarded two 40K grants to developed educational programming. The DOE was open to most STEM subjects but was asking specifically for these two courses. I wrote a proposal that covered both subjects in one grant.

I'd like to be useful and helpful.  There is not much to do during this time. I'm currently teaching Anatomy and Physiology, a few hours a week, for TRiO using Virtual Reality.

I was an Associate Professor, and Program Director at the Alamo Colleges for 11 years, where I did my best to integrate engineering processes with educational processes like ADDIE to teach an interdisciplinary field called Biomedical Engineering Technology. I approached education the only way I knew how, using engineering processes (project management) which I found many similarities to education.

If your interested in A.I. Voice Bots, like Alexa in the classroom, I'm currently working on some proof of concepts using Alexa to run lectures with student interaction. My goal is to move toward an open source A.I, specifically Mycroft.

Thank you for your time,

Alberto Vasquez
