The UTSA Student Volunteer of the Year Award was created to honor an outstanding student for their time, effort and personal commitment to volunteerism and enhancing civic life in their community. Applicants should also embody the true spirit of civic engagement and volunteerism. Please nominate or encourage your students to apply.

 

Applicants must be currently enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio and be in good standing (financial, discipline, academic, etc) with the university and have at least a 2.75 overall cumulative GPA. Nominations and self-nominations are both accepted. The winner will be announced at the University Life Awards on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the HEB University Center Ballrooms. Finalists will be called prior to the event and are strongly encouraged to attend.

 

Applicants will also have the option to submit their application for consideration for the Sandra Cisneros "Service to Community" Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship can range from $450-$500. To qualify:

·         Student must be in good standing (as described above)

·         Must be enrolled at UTSA for the Fall 2015 semester

·         Must have a FAFSA on file to show eligibility to receive the scholarship
