San Antonio researchers to treat babies at-risk for autism

8th Annual College Research Colloquium - submit presentations by Sept. 21
This is an opportunity for Faculty to present Research-- in past, present, and future areas of inquiry-- that are published or to be published. Doctoral students may present with Faculty in ILT or other units of the College and University,and share trajectories that may lead to Dissertations, Theses or publications. Faculty will have an opportunity to learn about other Faculty Scholarly Research.



For those interested in presenting at the Colloquium, please use the below link to submit your presentation information. Feel free to share with any student who may be interested in presenting as well. The deadline for submitting presentation information is Friday, September 21.

Eyra Perez and Pesha Mabrie, doctoral students in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, were recently named University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) Barbara L. Jackson Scholars.

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), in collaboration with The Children's Hospital of San Antonio and the Autism Treatment Center, have been awarded a two-year, $1,251,063 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to develop an innovative, infant and toddler autism treatment program called Project PLAAY (Parent-Led Autism Treatment for At-Risk Young Infants and Toddlers). 
South San names Flores as lone finalist for superintendent

South San Antonio Independent School District’s board voted unanimously Tuesday to name Palacios ISD Superintendent Alexandro Flores the lone finalist to lead the district. The board voted 6-0 to name him the lone finalist. Trustee Elda Flores was absent. By law, the board must wait 21 days before voting to hire Flores as superintendent. Flores, who grew up in Eagle Pass, said the decision “feels like coming home.” He graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio and was previously an administrator at Natalia ISD and a teacher and principal in San Antonio ISD.
