students inducted into teaching profession |
Students from the College of Education and Human Development were inducted into the profession of teaching at a special Teacher Induction Ceremony on Monday, May 13, 2019 on the UTSA Main Campus. The ceremony marked the end of clinical teaching for the students.
The event included remarks from Dr. Margo DelliCarpini, dean of the COEHD, Dr. Belinda Flores, associate dean for professional preparation, assessment, and accreditation, and Dr. Norma Guerra, associate dean for undergraduate studies. To view additional photos

There are few stories like David Swierzynski’s, because there are few men who can remain committed to a goal
as long as he can, take as many hits as he can, and continue to get back up and fight, every single time. Swierzynski grew up in foster care in the New Jersey area until he was 18. His foster father said he was no longer “making him money, so I had to get
a job or get out of his house,” David told the Veterans Site. This weekend, he will graduate Cum Laude with a degree and a teaching certificate in Physical Education from UTSA.

University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Education and Human Development is hosting the Mexican American Studies Teachers’ Academy June 17-21, 2019. 
Hours
of studying, researching and preparing for the future have paid off for more than 5,100 Roadrunners set to cross the stage and receive their degrees this weekend at UTSA’s Spring Commencement.
