Colleagues:
The University of Texas System is gathering information on existing initiatives, partnerships and collaborations of UT institutions with the public PK-12 sector, including with local and regional
ISDs, organizations, associations, and non-profits.
This information-gathering will contribute to the
Texas Prospect Initiative, one of Chancellor
McRaven's Quantum Leaps
in his new strategic vision, for the role of the UT System in leading change in a complex world. The goal of the
Texas Prospect Initiative is to use the size and resources of UT campuses to actively engage with leaders in pre-K-through-12 education, thereby changing the relationship between higher education and public education in meaningful and unprecedented ways.
Work on the Texas Prospect Initiative is being led by the Office of Academic Affairs. As we develop the plan for its implementation, we want to recognize the strong work already taking
place at UT institutions. For this initiative to be successful, the participation of the campuses and local school districts will be instrumental.

Distribute this link widely, to offices and units on your campus that work and collaborate internally and externally with K-12 partners.
Information is due
March 18, 2016.
Thank you, in advance, for your time and feedback. Please feel free to contact Academic Affairs project leads,
Rebecca Karoff and
Wanda Mercer,
with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
